Easter Eggs

This year I was determined to follow through and actually dye Easter Eggs with my son. My teen daughter could not be bothered with a litle bit of tradition. "Nobody dyes Easter Eggs anymore." Really, then why is is a whole isle full of amazing kits to dress up plain white eggs.
After printing out a social story for Alex that shows all the steps we will be doing we were ready. After a few minutes I discover that dyeing eggs with children is a lesson in patience for both the children and the adults. Alex seemed more fascinated with dropping the eggs so the shells would crack and then looking at the pattern. I would like to say that our eggs turned out like the picture but I would be a big liar and who would dare try lying at Eastertime!

Don't get around much anymore......

Does it seem like I just dropped off the planet? I have been up to my a** in alligators. I have learned one major point from all of this- multi tasking & autism suck! Have you ever played dodge ball (toys flying at my head) while cooking dinner with the volume of the TV turned all the way up? That is considered an easy time in my house. So you say where is your husband? He is busy playing Playstation like a teen in the bedroom. Don't worry, I 'll see him when he comes out and asks what is for dinner! I am so in need of a break. My son has been home from school for over two weeks now. My brilliant idea was to set up his bounce house in the living room to keep him entertained for over 2 minutes. A jack hammer would sound better than this thing! Enough of my rambling.....

Mountain Dew Mouth

Did anyone else watch 20/20 last night? The show was about living in the Appalachian Mountains. It was very sad. The area is #1 in the nation for tooth decay. We are talking whole teeth missing! The program mentioned that the residents use Mountain Dew as sort of an anti-depressant.
A dentist has spent over $150,000 on a Mobile Dental Clinic. He restores the adults and children's smiles-what an angel! It also mentioned that many toddlers are given Mtn. Dew in their bottles. Totally nuts!

Dreamy of a far away land......GIVEAWAY!!!!

I haven't been blogging or reading my favorite blogs lately. My son has severe autism . This past month he has hit me nonstop. The good thing is that he is only doing it to me. The bad thing is HE IS DOING TO TO ME. I am worn out and sore. I like to stay positive almost to the point of being sugary sweet-belch.
To turn my attitude around I am trying to focus on things that I enjoy. One thing that I love is giveaways. So my few followers, I would like to announce my first giveaway.
It is a new glass paneled candle lantern. A flicker of a candle makes the colored glass sparkle.I have many lanterns that I like to use on our patio. This beauty can be yours!

The Giveaway will run from February 8, 2009 to February 12, 2009. The winner will be announced on February 13, 2009. Below are rules for entering this giveaway. Good luck.

• MAIN RULE –Leave a comment telling me you wish to enter this giveaway and a funny hint to help me relax.

How do I know you?

Many times when I am out running errands I am asked "You look familiar, how do I know you?"
99.78% of the time I have no idea who this person is. Then the person proceeds to play the twenty question game. This drives me bonkers! I usually answer that I have a very generic face and I live under a rock in the hopes that they will go away scratching their head.
Do you resemble a celebrity? I have a friend that looks like Brendan Fraser if you squint while looking at him.

Heelarious Baby High Heels

I was listening to the radio after dropping my daughter off at high school when a commercial came on. It was for a children's clothing shop. Names of brands were rattled off including Baby High Heels. I thought that it had to be a brand of clothes not actual high heels for babies. I searched the internet and found out that it was shoes for babies. What do you think? Is it "Heelarious" or has the world gone mad?
